Zebřička pestrá (Taeniopygia guttata)
Dospělý pták má délku 10,5 cm, kčídlo 5,5 cm a ocas 3,5 cm. Původní zebřička je na hlavě, krku a zádech šedá. Černě zbarvený pásek na hrudi odděluje bílou spodní část těla. Na lící jsou oválné hnědavě červené skvrny lemované pod okem černou čarou. Červenavé skvrny jsou i na bocích a jsou posety bílými skvrnami. Křídla jsou šedohnědá a ocas má z vrchu černobílé páskování. Zobák je červený a nohy růžové. Samice je šedá se světlejší spodní částí těla a černou čarou pod okem. Zebřičky patří mezi nejznámější chované astrildy. Vynikají zejména svojí nenáročností, adaptabilitou a jsou jedny z nejlepších ptáků pro začínající chovatele. I já jsem před lety s těmito astrildy začínal a v současné době mám něco kolem 15 párů různých barevných variací, bílé, šedé, skořicové, černolící, krémové, straky a další. Zebřičky obývají skoro celou Austrálii a Malé Sundy. V přírodě hnízdí v různých keřích a hnízdo má lahvovitý tvar. Živí se travními a jinými drobnými semeny, v zajetí jsou na výživu nenáročné, jelikož oproti jiným astrildům potřebují méně živočišných bílkovin. Krmí se zejména směsmi drobných semen různých druhů pros, mohárem, čumízou a lesknicí. Krmení je vhodné i máčet a nechávat naklíčit. V době hnízdění se přikrmuje vaječnou míchanicí. Přídavkem mohou být různé druhy ovoce, zeleniny a spousta krmných přísad vitaminů a minerálií, které se dají sehnat běžně v obchodech s chovatelskými potřebami. Zebřičky hnízdí v zajetí velmi snadno a neopovrhnou jakoukoli budkou či hnízdnímu košíku s použitím drobného sena či peří. K chovu postačí větší klec nebo voliéra a mohou být bezproblému drženi s dalšími mírumilovnými ptáky. Hnízdí prakticky kdykoliv v roce a snůška mívá kolem 4- 7 vajec, na kterých sedí oba rodiče 11- 12 dní. Mláďata opouští hnízdní budku zhruba po 20 dnech. U klece by neměla chybět koupelnička, jelikož zebřičky se velmi rádi koupou. Jsou to velmi příjemní a nenároční společníci..Komentáře
